The Safest Way for Your Dog to Travel

I don’t know about you, but we love taking road trips. Especially with our two pups! Safety was always on my mind anytime we hit the road. If we were involved in a car crash they could be injured or they could flee from the accident out of fear. I can’t imagine that happening and I made it my mission to figure out a way to keep them safe. After a lot of research on crates, car seats/boosters, & seat belt attachments, a car seat was the best option we could find for our pups. Having a car seat keeps them safe and the driver’s attention on the road.

We began researching all of the car seats we could find. We didn’t want them just harnessed into the seat belt but we wanted something they could be comfortable in and relax in. Preferably something they could even lay down and sleep in.

We finally settled on the Solvit Seat Pet Booster. Purchasing the jumbo size was an easy choice for us.  Our pups absolutely love these seats. They were able to move around and lay down while we were on the road. A huge plus is the the seat comes right up to the window so the dogs were able to look out. It is great and I know they love it too!

A little about the seat

It is super easy to assemble. There are four parts you just snap together. It is made of very hard, durable plastic. It comes with a fleece like cover that covers the top, then you place a “pillow” inside for their seat. The pillow is really great because it is double sided. One side is the same fleece material as the cover. This is for winter time and the other side is a cooler material for the warmer months. There is a strap inside the seat that you will attach to your pup’s harness. Do not use a collar. You could cause extreme harm if you attach your pup to this seat by the collar. 

Side note: To make the dogs more comfortable, I added memory foam to fit into the bottom of the seat.
