4 Day Royal Caribbean Cruise: Bahamas

I have been fortunate enough to go on one cruise so far in my life. It was on board a Royal Caribbean cruise ship to the Bahamas. It was only 4 days and we departed from Port Canaveral, Florida.

I have been on many vacations, with family, with friends, and even a work trip here and there, but never ever have I experienced the relaxation as I did on this cruise. When I travel with family or friends I tend to do a lot of the planning, driving, cooking, etc. This cruise really let me see what a vacation is supposed to feel like. I didn’t have to think, meals were planned, excursions taken care of, all I had to do was show up. It was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it to anyone. I don’t know that I have ever known what it was like to have a true no responsibility vacation….this was the one.

We set sail out of Port Canaveral, Florida, aboard the Majesty of the Seas with Royal Caribbean. We would port at Nassau and CocoCay Bahamas. Since I had never been to either place, they were both exciting and new.

CocoCay

CocoCay is a private island and pure paradise. It features all kinds of activities; snorkeling, kayaking, boating, jet-ski rentals, an aqua park. Plus nature walks, beaches and plenty of spots to relax and recharge. I will be honest, I could have skipped Nassau all together and just spent 2 days on this island. We just sat by the crystal blue waters and soaked in the sun most of the day. It was fabulous!

Nassau

While we were in Nassau we chose to go to Atlantis for a short tour. There is a casino, aquarium, water slides, pools, countless restaurants, and probably one of the nicest resorts/hotels I have ever seen. If you get to stay here, you really won’t need to leave the resort for anything. I especially enjoyed the aquarium. It was really neat and right near the lobby. If you want to pay an additional fee, you can actually enjoy some of the resorts pools and beaches for the day before your cruise leaves that night.

The people in the Bahamas were friendly and accommodating. Our tour guide was so funny and he made our two hours with him memorable. I would certainly go back. Cruising might not be for everyone, but for this girl, it was 4 days of relaxation that I am eager to try again.
