Unlock Paradise: 3-Day Escape at Hammock Beach Resort

A dear friend of mine won an amazing weekend during a silent auction to the gorgeous Hammock Beach Resort located in Palm Coast, Florida. I was thrilled when she asked me to go in her place. I have never won anything and this certainly felt like I won! This place is out of my normal price range, so I was thrilled to be able to go! I had also never been to Palm Coast, FL. We went the first part of March, during what was not quite what would be considered Spring Break. Palm Coast is about 8 hours from home, done easily in a day. This place that we stayed was not pet friendly, so I had to have a friend come and stay with my pups.

The resort

When you arrive, they have a bellman waiting to unload your car and valet while you checking in. The front desk also asked if we would like our refrigerator stocked and they would have someone run to the local grocery and pick up whatever we needed. While that was a nice amenity, we decided to do our own grocery shopping. Once in the room, we realized we should have brought several more people with us. The room was a 3 bedroom, 3 bath ocean view condo!

We enjoyed the pool area more than anything! There were 3 separate pool areas. Adult, Family and Beach. They are exactly what they sound like. One pool for adults only, one for families with children and one that had a beach type entrance. It was the neatest thing. We mostly stayed at the beach pool. They have a lazy river, an indoor pool, and a water slide. They also have bike rentals. We rode around the property and adjoining neighborhoods. It was wonderful. Golf and Tennis are on the property as well, but his was a relax only trip for us!

What to do

The beaches are so different on the Atlantic compared to what I am use to on the Gulf. The water is murky and a little unnerving to not be able to see what was in the water. The Gulf is always so clear, so this took a little getting use to.

Where to eat

One place we found was called the European Village. On the outside it looks like nothing more than condos. When you walk through the little breeze way you are instantly transported to another country. It was by far the coolest thing we saw while we were there. It is a destination for all things dining, lounging, shopping, and entertainment, featuring 6 restaurants, 6 shops, 5 bars,  and 2 cafe’s! We ate at an adorable Italian restaurant, Mezzaluna. The pizza was amazing and I highly recommend this place!

While I will probably never be able to stay here again, it was certainly appreciated and wonderful to stay here this time and as far as customer service and attention, the Hammock Beach Resort was outstanding.
