$3 Frozen Treats For The Dogs Or The Kids

With the Alabama heat caving in on us this summer, I wanted to make the pups some frozen treats they could have to cool down. After a day hiking or playing in the yard, I knew they would love something cool to snack on. We received an AKC magazine in the mail and it had this super easy, fun recipe that I wanted to share it with you. Plus, all of the ingredients were natural and easy to find at any grocery store. The best part is that they can be eaten by us or our furry friends!

What you will need:

  1. Peeled Mango
  2. Mashed Banana
  3. 1 1/2 cups of Coconut water
  4. Food processor
  5. Baking tray or Popsicle tray

*Note: if you are making more than 4-5 full size popsicles I recommend doubling the measurements.

First and foremost, I placed a cutting “board” under all of my items to keep the kitchen as spotless as it was after I cleaned this morning 😉 I say “board” because they are almost like thick paper, we buy them at Dollar Tree for messy recipes like this and they are incredible. If you don’t have one, you are missing out!

Next, peel the mango and mash-up the banana. At first, it seems that the 1 1/2 cups of coconut water is too much, but it ends up being perfect! The steps to follow were actually quite simple. Place the peeled, chopped mango, mashed banana, and measured coconut water into the food processor and click GO! After it becomes a puree, pour into your baking tray or popsicle maker and TADA! If you don’t like fruit chunks, be sure to blend the mix really well. My pops took about 2 hours to freeze and my pups LOVED them! I hope you enjoy them too!
