MacKenzie River Pizza

If you looking for a good pizza and plenty of seating for a large group, this is a good choice. They have a nice variety of delicious pizzas, salads, and sandwiches. They also have two locations now.

Burger Bob’s

A local favorite with arguably the best burger in town! This place provides quality food products from the best local distributors in the Gallatin Valley! I love that they get their food from local distributors, everything is so fresh and delicious. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere was extremely laid back. Not to mention, I LOVE tater tots and they had some of the best I have ever had. Hands down one of the best burgers I’ve had. I also recommend their grilled chicken sandwich which was loaded with good seasoning and flavor. Great lunch deals too!

Wheat Montana

While not technically located in Bozeman, I couldn’t resist sharing this delightful deli and bakery gem. Nestled just a short drive away, this family-owned establishment boasts a unique charm that’s worth the excursion. What sets this place apart is its commitment to crafting exceptional food. They cultivate their own grains and mill them just a stone’s throw from the deli, resulting in a remarkable freshness that infuses every dish.

Our group had the pleasure of savoring some truly extraordinary sandwiches. The ham, turkey, and club selections left us all thoroughly impressed – they come highly recommended without a shadow of a doubt. Some of us even ventured to try their Wheat Chili, and it was nothing short of fabulous.

Now, let’s talk about their baked goods – words can hardly do justice to their wonderful creations. I had the pleasure of indulging in an array of cookies, pies, and other delectables, they’ve got it all. While it may require a short drive out to Three Forks, the experience and flavors you’ll encounter make it an absolutely worthwhile journey.

Blackbird Kitchen

A farm-to-table restaurant offering inventive dishes using locally sourced ingredients, perfect for food enthusiasts. Casual eatery with soaring ceilings for pasta & wood-fired pizza served up from an open kitchen.

Montana Ale Works

A local favorite is known for its craft beer selection and a diverse menu featuring everything from burgers to seafood. I recommend the Bison Burger. So delicious and their shrimp appetizer. Over 40 craft beers on tap & creative pub fare in a former freight house with happy-hour specials.

Storm Castle Cafe

Storm Castle Cafe is owned locally by Chef Scott Peterson and his wife Nicole Warner. A homey place with a rustic vibe serving hearty breakfast plates all day, plus burgers & sandwiches. The sandwich that brought us to this unique cafe was the Monte Cristo! Savory French Toast stuffed with shaved ham and Swiss cheese, pancake battered and deep fried, served with homemade syrup. My mouth is watering thinking about this unique dish. This can be split it is so rich!

Sidewinder’s American Grill & Tavern

This place is one of Bozeman’s newer places to have a meal or grab a beer with your friends. Contemporary grill for American comfort food, with outdoor seats, a bar & military-themed decor. Great tavern and comfort food. Their chicken pot pie was featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. They are made fresh daily, so you have to get them while they last. It is amazing. There isn’t much we have tried that we didn’t like. They have a great outdoor area for dining alfresco!

Open Range Steakhouse

A little trivia for you here:  Did you know that Montana has more cattle than people living in the state? It true! How can you visit the Treasure State without sampling their beef? Open Range is a great place to have a steak prepared the way it was meant to be eaten. This place has something for everyone even if steak isn’t your favorite. Let me end this one other comment, leave room for dessert!

MAP Brewing

Besides the great venue, wonderful scenery, and great staff, this place has several great dishes that I would come back for time and time again. MAP Brewing Company focuses on delivering fresh, local, and high-quality Montana beer served in a warm, friendly, and comfortable atmosphere.  Great craft beer, good times, and great community are the cornerstones of it all. Some of the great food includes the Yellowstone Grassfed Beef, salads, appetizers to share, and menu items for the kids as well! A great place to hit up after a day at the Gallatin Rec Area which is directly across the lake.

Roost Fried Chicken

Roost Fried Chicken is Bozeman, Montana’s eclectic Southern restaurant that offers traditional recipes that will remind you of your mom’s cooking. They offer Southern Fried Chicken, Salads, Sandwiches, Biscuits, Cold Beer, and Ice Cream. This place was also featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.

Old Chicago Pizza (Honorable Mention)

While this pizza joint is part of a chain, don’t let that deter you – it’s definitely worth a visit. What truly sets it apart, and the reason I’m mentioning it, is its unbeatable Happy Hour offerings in the area. Running from 2 PM to 4 PM and again from 10 PM to 12 AM daily, this Happy Hour is a game-changer. You’ll enjoy a jaw-dropping half-off on drinks and appetizers that can’t be beaten. If you’re dining with a large family, this place is a real wallet-saver.

Our first night in Bozeman called for something easy, quick, and conveniently located, and this place checked all the boxes and then some. The service was not only prompt but also courteous, and to top it off, our waitress hailed from a town near our own hometown – a pleasant surprise that added to the experience.

As for the food, it was nothing short of awesome! We savored a combination of wings and pizza, and I can’t recommend the deep-dish Chicago 7 pizza highly enough. It’s a must-try.
