How to Create an Armoire Makeover with Annie Sloan Paint
We just recently began creating our office space at the new house. We are turning the “formal” dining room into an area we can read and work. Ultimately, we purchased a dining room table that we converted into a double desk, but we need something for storage.
We were extremely fortunate to luck up on a deal from our neighbors. They had this beautiful, antique armoire that we got at steal for $200. The piece was so beautiful, but the color didn’t quite go with the theme we were looking for.
We knew the piece was going to need an armoire makeover. The color was a slight yellow with a dark wax and we were trying to stay with cool neutral colors. We had already painted the desk with Annie Sloan French Linen so we knew the colors would stay close to gray.
We chose to paint the armoire Annie Sloan’s Old White. We removed the fabric that was placed on the backing and painted it with the French Linen to tie the two pieces together.
The process took an entire week but man was it worth it! This is definitely a conversation piece and where everyone’s eyes are drawn to when the come in they front door.
I think our armoire makeover turned out pretty nice, what do you think?
