Great Places to Eat in Boone

We always try to eat at local restaurants while on vacation to try new places and not eat at the typical chain places. North Carolina in general has no shortages of wonderful places to eat and Boone does not disappoint when it comes time to grab a bite to eat. Here are some of our favorite places to eat while in Boone.

1. The Pedalin’ Pig – This is a MUST! The Pedalin’ Pig has all things you would find at a barbecue shack but come on, it’s North Carolina BBQ so it makes it that much better right? We have had the ribs and pulled pork with tons of hush puppies and fries. They have about 6 different sauces that are all homemade and delicious. This place does not disappoint but be sure to get there early or you may have to wait. 
2. Daniel Boone Inn – While fairly expensive for breakfast or lunch ($25-$35 per person) you get your moneys worth if you go hungry. We had breakfast here and it is a buffet that is brought to your table. SO DELICIOUS!
3. Brick Oven Pizzeria – While located a little outside of Boone, on Beech Mountain, that drive is definitely worth it. We always make a point to grab lunch here while in the area. The pizza is incredible! Take in the views while you are on Beech Mountain as it is Eastern America’s Highest Town (5,506 ft.).
4. Bella’s – Also a little outside of Boone, Bella’s is located on Sugar Mountain. If you are wanting to replenish after a long day of skiing, Italian is the way to go. Bella’s is a great place to load up on some carbs! Their lasagna was one of the best I have had.
5. Bayou Smokehouse-BBQ plates & Cajun dishes, plus craft draft beer, offered in a relaxed setting with outdoor seating. This great restaurant is located a short drive to Banner Elk.
6. The Stable House (located at the Biltmore, see post HERE) – I wanted to put this one on the list because this was one of our stops this trip. The Stable Cafe is divine! They operate on a farm-to-table basis. I highly recommend the rotisserie chicken, it is delectable!
